Are you still applying makeup with the same methods you used 20 years ago? Navigating Makeup for Mature Skin can be a whole new ball game, with our skin changing dramatically over time. The obvious response to these natural changes is to update and refresh are beauty routine to suit our new circumstances.

If you’re feeling lost when it comes to your makeup, here are our top tips when it comes to finding the right makeup for mature skin. Let’s ensure your makeup look amazing at any age!

  1. Your Primer Is Your Best Friend

When it comes to prepping your base, a good primer can work wonders on mature skin. Whether you’re looking to boost your skins vibrancy, or want to prevent makeup from setting into fine lines, your primer will create a clean canvas for you to build from.

2. Conceal and Correct Where You Can

You’ll never be able to cover up your wrinkles completely, but don’t feel like you have to! Less is more. However, if you do want to cover up where you can – why not try some concealer under the eyes. The eyes tend to be the first place where we can spot the natural signs of ageing, so a small amount of concealer can make big changes.

3. Go Warmer

When you first started applying makeup, you may have become familiar with the desperate search to find your perfect foundation match. However, as your skin starts to mature, a warmer toned foundation or concealer can prevent you from looking washed out.

4. Keep The Colour In Your Cheeks

Colour keeps us looking fresh and gives us an extra glow. Whether you opt for blush or highlighter, both options can be a great way to draw some life out of your cheeks. We’d also recommend opting for a cream-based product rather than a powder to ensure a healthy glow.

5. Jump on the Brow Trends

As our skin changes over time, so does our hair. Naturally, it tends to lighten and sometimes thin out over time. Your brows play a huge part in lining the face, and you might feel like they need a helping hand. Defining your brows can help open up your eyes and create a fuller looking face.

If you’re really struggling to navigate makeup for mature skin, there are also a few different ways that we can give you a helping hand.
