Thinking of chasing your dream of becoming a professional makeup artist? We’ve all been there. Dreaming of the day we can get paid to do what we love. Brushing up on beauty trends, practicing looks we love, and working with a huge range of clientele – what’s not to love! But the step between learning your perfect foundation shade and becoming a artistry professional isn’t always an easy or obvious one. It can be especially hard when there are bills to pay, and you won’t be the only one questioning how to become a makeup artist and have a full-time job. The hours in the day just aren’t long enough!
However, training and earning your MUA qualifications whilst paying the bills is completely possible. We’re here to show you how.
First of all, you need to find your why…
One of the biggest common fears that held many of our students back from chasing their MUA dreams was balancing the time commitment with everyday life. These things are time consuming! Fortunately, there are many ways to stay motivated when time is short.
Finding your why as a makeup artist is a great way to keep going. If things get busy and you’re struggling to motivate yourself, think back to the reason you started. This should help you to push through when things get tough!
Use any free time to build your portfolio…
When it comes to making the jump from working full-time to being a makeup artist full-time you want to give yourself the best possible start. Creating your portfolio will help you do just that. Practice on family and friends when you can to document your looks! When it comes to finding clients, you won’t have to spend any time out of work frantically attempting to pull a portfolio together.
Building your portfolio is also a great way of getting in some extra practice! Every little bit helps.
Most importantly: look into flexible learning!
Flexible learning is going to be your lifeline when it comes to transitioning into your new career. 121 lessons or evening classes will be vital to ensure you get all the knowledge you need to take the next step.
At KLMA, we actually offer a Makeup Masterclass for adults with full-time jobs who want a more flexible option to train in makeup. This is a great way to get your accreditation whilst continuing to support yourself & your family.
We actually have an evening course running in a matter of weeks and it has a few spots remaining.
Is it finally time to make sure you are QUALIFIED like a professional, so you can get HIRED like a professional? We think so!
We show you how to conquer every section of your artistry… and we mean CONQUER.
If you’re ready to become a makeup artist and have a full-time job, look no further…
